Episode 142
On this occasion, Babelito sat with one of his favorite scholars, Annette Rodríguez from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), to discuss the importance of understanding the history of the lynching of Mexicans in the southwest and the west coast during the late 19th and early 20th century. Annette first discusses the wonders of Hawaiian food and later contextualizes the vocabulary behind “hate crimes” “lynching” and the media we consume that continues to reiterate the invisibility of Mexicans in the long history of U.S. terrorism against our communities.
